After a promising start, I just (painstackingly) finished the first season. The intentions behind the show are good (a cultural dive inside a small community of modern days native americans) but the execution is too stereotyped and the ropes are too obvious. Even the characters seem to find the plot boring and cliché.

1883 went above and beyond all my expectations in terms of storytelling, scenery and acting. It is an ode about how fragile, precious life is, and about the beauty that hides beyond the boundaries of the "civilized" world.

An absolute must-see.
