Watching the protagonist wallow was not always easy but it was offset by a charming, almost ethereal, cast around him. It pains me to say how much I could relate
It's a bit dumb, stuffed and all over the place yet entertaining in its more thrilling scenes and its choice of international locations
Didn’t age super gracefully in sensibilities, and can’t have ever been great wrt cinematography nor acting. Still enough in there in terms of weirdness, specificity and slights of hands that I did not get bored of it at all
Seductive, thrilling, surprisingly grounded, stellar cast
A lovely combo of a popcorn secret agent show without falling too much into the genre trappings of supreme evil, instead trading it for organizational incompetence and more banal forms of evil, with the good guys being too blue eyed to play politics
Not the typical court room drama juror situation, leaves you with questions about justice. A bit safe and bland in its visuals.
Painful but necessary, I wish we didn’t live in the past
The vibes felt very Sicario-but-Nazis, brooding with minimalist intensity. The characters related and struggled in a way that really clicked for me
Cute gimmick, but doesn’t grow the more interesting ideas it touches, instead staying with the more predictable Hankskitsch
Heart in the right place, but chemistry between characters is lacking, writing just about entertaining
I was transfixed throughout the whole (long) runtime. An honest raw epic, a trip that transcends moments and places
If you don’t think about it, there’s fun to be had in the premise and the performances
I watched it fairly late but it has aged majestically and still holds up great. Amazing setting, vibes, pacing 🧑🏼🍳💋
A spiritual journey which's themes resonate with me more than its specific historical religious backdrop
Rarely have I been more excited about the Old Testament
Fuck the haters, media gets better when it’s self aware and this started an interesting development for a kid movie franchise about space wizzards
Chillingly effective, not for the faint of heart
Wholesome, strange with confidence
While I don't always vibe with the pacing, and at times find the writing to be a bit overly dramatic, overall it's a great show with an intriguing premise and a protagonist that leads with curiosity, love and understanding, even in the darkest of places. Truly what we need these days!
I was dazzled, engaged yet barely scared. Fantastic images, pacing, performances
Very sweet, enheartening/empowering for being activistic
It's all one could hope for from a Gladiator sequel. There's a certain utilitarian pragmatism to how it's shot but the performances, especially Denzel, made it worthwhile for me.
Hurts in all the right ways. Really my kind of movie: lots of talking with peppy dialogue between characters that feel familiar
Brutally tense, I both do and don't look forward to a second viewing to fully grok what it was saying
Expressive and beautiful. Perfect for a hangover
It may not be the literal truth but emotionally it's probably not far off. Empathy for the pigs at the top is a hard thing to come by, but Succession dances on that pity↔️scorn tightrope
Give it a few shots, there is more to it than animal puns. As in, A LOT MORE dumb animal puns.
(also the darkness is getting both acknowledged and tackled)
It devastated the center of my being
Erratic, non-stop,.. I did not know I could appreciate Adam Sandler before this movie
A simple documentarian film which manages to make a very human point without it feeling political (which ofc it is, has to be)
A great return to form. Exquisitely executed.
That said, I'm also a sucker for the existentialist ambitions of the (less polished) previous movies, which this one does less of
Not an easy watch, but severely well executed in every scene
